Stop renting your power from RG&E. Go solar with $0 down.
Steve is a local solar consultant in Rochester, NY. He works with homeowners across the Greater Rochester area. A lease or PPA usually means no upfront cost — you pay a monthly amount for the electricity the system produces.
Serving homeowners across Rochester, NY — and the towns in between.

Utility rates
Utility bills are not something you control
RG&E made rate filings in 2025. Public estimates in the coverage of those filings put the monthly increase at roughly $33 for a typical residential customer, which is about 26%. Temporary rates went up about 2.9% in May 2026, and the final decision is still pending.
What that means
- You may still pay a service charge after solar.
- A solar lease or PPA does not freeze your entire bill.
- It lowers the part of the bill tied to the electricity you use.
What a solar payment does
A lease or PPA gives you a known monthly amount for the electricity the system produces. That is not a promise of profit. It is a known cost. Steve will explain the monthly payment, the term, and the escalator (if any) before you sign anything.
If you would rather buy the system outright, that is a different path and also valid. Steve can talk through both.
Utilities covered
What utilities do you cover?
If you get a bill from one of these, I can help you cut it.
RG&E
Rochester Gas & Electric customers across Monroe County and beyond.
National Grid
National Grid customers in the surrounding towns.
NYSEG
NYSEG customers in the Finger Lakes and rural areas.
Don't see yours? Just ask!
If your utility isn't on the list, send me a note — I'll tell you straight away whether I can help.
Do I still get a utility bill?
Yes — you'll still pay your customer service charge (the meter). My goal is to get you to 100% coverage, so your solar power fully covers your consumption.
Completely eliminating supply and delivery charges from your utility company!

How it works
How the $0-down lease/PPA works
No upfront purchase. A monthly payment for the electricity the system produces. Steve will explain the term, the escalator (if any), and what is included before you sign anything.
$0 upfront
Through the state lease program you pay nothing to get started. Instead of buying the system, you make a monthly payment for the clean power it produces.
30–40% lower bills
Most of my Rochester homeowners see their electric costs drop 30–40% right away. I'll show you what your own numbers look like.
Escape rate hikes
Utility rates keep climbing. Solar gives you a predictable payment for the power your roof makes, so you're not at the mercy of the next increase.
$5,000 NYS tax credit
New York still offers a residential solar tax credit worth 25% of system cost, up to $5,000. Ask your tax professional how it applies to you.
